GovCamp Scotland 2026: Let’s do it all over again
There’s something about GovCamp Scotland. Maybe it’s the buzz in the room when people realise they’re in a space where hierarchy doesn’t matter. Maybe it’s the conversations that start with “this might be a silly idea…” and end with something genuinely exciting. Or maybe it’s just the magic that happens when those who care about public services get together and share what they know.
Whatever it is… we’re doing it again. And you’re invited!
Why GovCamp Scotland?
GovCamp Scotland isn’t your typical conference. There are no big keynote speeches or smooth and curated presentations. No sitting quietly at the back of the room scrolling through emails.
Instead, it’s an ‘unconference’. This means that you help shape the agenda on the day by bringing your ideas, questions, challenges, and experiences. You then join conversations that matter to you.
Whether you work in government, healthcare, third sector, local authority, digital, policy, design or somewhere in between - you belong here.
What to expect in 2026
We’re building on everything that’s made previous GovCamp Scotland events so worthwhile:
🤝 A welcoming community where everyone can contribute
✨ Open, honest conversations about real public service problems
💡 Ideas you can take back and actually use in practice
☕ Lots of coffee-fuelled chats in between sessions
And just like before, some of the best moments won’t be planned. They’ll likely happen in the gaps and the chats between sessions.
It’s not about being an expert
One of the best things about our ‘unconference’ approach is that you don’t need to arrive with all the answers. You might:
have a challenge you’re trying to solve
be curious about how others are doing things
want to test an idea
or just want to listen and learn
That’s all valid. That’s what GovCamp Scotland is for.
Why you should come
We’re sure you’ll agree with us that public services just work better when we learn from each other and because the best ideas don’t always come from the loudest voices or the biggest organisations.
It goes without saying that taking a day to step outside your usual work and connecting with others can be genuinely energising, and we know that GovCamp Scotland is shaped by the people who show up.
Ready to get involved?
If this sounds like your kind of thing - come along: Bring your curiosity. Bring your questions. Bring your experience.
And if you’ve never been to an unconference or GovCamp before, even better. We can’t wait to see what conversations emerge this year.
Spaces are limited, and they’ll be allocated using a ballot so, if more people apply than we have spaces for, we’ll randomly select attendees. We’re aiming for a fair mix of people from the public sector, local government and the third sector, so we’ll take this into account when allocating places.
For a free ticket, please complete the form before 21 August to enter the ballot:
